Academic course - Use and care of animals In biomedical research (94810)
Course 94810 is specifically designated for people who will be working with animals in research during the following months. Therefore, it is not open to the general public for registration.
This course enables research students to meet their duties, taking into account the range of their assignments and research needs, a special course, for this purpose, defined as a "compulsory course" (**) for research students conducting laboratory animal experiments.
Course goal: To provide basic knowledge to the ethics of handling laboratory animals and their use in scientific experiments, in order to maximize their scientific utility, while minimizing their suffering.
Eligibility: Success in the course will grant a formal certification.

Tuition: The tuition for students enrolled in the course as part of their studies will be included in their annual tuition (1 credits = 0.5 hourly annual). Anyone who is not a student will be required to pay for the course, according to the following details:

(**) Exempt from this course are students who successfully completed course , #94810 "Use of Laboratory Animals in the Biomedical Sciences," or its equivalent in the School of Veterinary Medicine, as well as students / researchers who took equivalent courses in other institutions (with formal certificate and detailed topics and scope).

First fill the form to request a Personal Authorization for working with animals. You will get a temporary authorization valid for up to 4 months.

In order to get a permanent authorization, you are requested to successfully complete all the phases of the course, within these 4 months:
- Online Lectures.
- Theoretical Exam.
- Practical laboratory.
Detailed instructions will be sent to you together with the temporary authorization no.
IMPORTANT: all requirements for the course must be done within the four-month period granted by the temporary authorization.
* Please note - Obtaining permission to perform research on animals other than rodents will be done in a similar manner (successfully performing phases 1+2 as written above, and having a special practical training.
